(SK&ĐS) - Mực tầu là một loại mực màu đen được sử dụng rộng rãi ở nhiều nước phương Đông và một vài nước khác như Ai Cập, Anh... trong quá khứ để viết, in và vẽ. Nền tảng của mực này là chất màu cacbon đen pha trong chất keo lỏng hay các môi trường gắn kết khác. Theo cổ thư Trung Quốc, mực tàu được làm từ muội than của nhựa hoặc gỗ cây thông bị đốt cháy rồi hoà với chất keo và hương liệu.
