Sunil Mathews thuộc Trung tâm y tế Baylor (Mỹ), stress, lo âu, dùng caffein, rượu và xem tivi trên giường là những yếu tố gây ảnh hưởng tới giấc ngủ, khiến nhiều người không thể ngủ đúng giờ. Điều này cũng có thể dẫn tới việc sử dụng thuốc ngủ, ảnh hưởng tới trạng thái tỉnh táo của ngày hôm sau.
