(QT) - Trong kháng chiến chống Mỹ cứu nước, trên sông Bến Hải tại vĩ tuyến 17 tính từ Cửa Tùng ngược lên Bến Tắt dài 20 km có rất nhiều đoạn bến sông người dân hai bên có thể qua lại khi thủy triều xuống, song tiêu biểu nhất là Bến Lội ở thôn Giang Phao, xã Trung Sơn, huyện Gio Linh. Nơi đây, hơn 50 năm trước, có hơn 500 người dân bị thảm sát trong một ngày do bom đạn của Mỹ - ngụy.
