HelpAge International in Vietnam provides 104 million VND to the elderly affected by floods

​(QTO) - Today 26/11/2020, Ms. Tran Bich Thuy, Country Director of HelpAge International in Vietnam, as head of the delegation visited and awarded VND 104 million to the Representative Board age (EL) in Quang Tri province to support the elderly affected by floods in recent years.

Previously, the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 3219 / QD-UBND on the approval and reception of foreign non-governmental aid Project to support the elderly affected by flooding in the central coastal provinces by HelpAge. International funding in Vietnam and the Provincial Association of the Elderly as the sponsor.

From November 2020 to the end of December 10, 2020, the project will be implemented in 6 communes: Húc, Xy (Huong Hoa); Huong Hiep, Mo O (Dakrong); Trieu Lang and Trieu Van (Trieu Phong) aim to support households with the elderly affected by floods to overcome some difficulties. The project includes the main activity of cash allocation to 200 beneficiaries with a total cost of 104 million VND supported by HelpAge International in Vietnam.


Also on November 26-27, 2020, HelpAge International in Vietnam coordinated with the Representative Committee of the Provincial Elderly Association to organize a training course on “Capacity building on COVID prevention, response and recovery. -19 for the elderly ”for 66 trainees who are members of the Representative Board of the Elderly Association of 9 districts, towns and cities (except Con Co island district); Chairmen of the Association of the Elderly at communes, wards and towns; Board of directors of 18 self-help intergenerational clubs in the province.
